I found loads actually, and I had seen them before but thought they were bits of mobile phones or other plastic.
So I looked it up online and found this site, https://marinedimensions.ie/what-is-a-mermaid-purse/ and I reported my finds and had a response as below:
I can see from your photos that you found 2 eggcases from the Thornback Ray (Raja clavata), .......... and 2 Spotted Ray eggcases (Raja montagui).
The Spotted Ray cases are the ones that are smooth along the sides, and the Thornbacks have a thin layer along the sides.
The site gives you links to report your finds, depending on country etc. So come on, let's see if you can find Greek, or Australian ones, Sasha, you will have to make a special beach trip, sorry.
